Hudson Taylor Ford's impressive debut with "Older Wiser"

With a debut that perfectly captures the feeling of nostalgia, this is an artist you need to know.

Artist Hudson Taylor Ford makes an impressive debut with “Older Wiser” - a melancholic

yet soothing track full of nostalgia and contemplation. The sparkles of unique, upbeat moments amongst the steady hum of music perfectly convey both regret and fondness of thinking back on the past. While working on a song about a relationship falling apart, Hudson stumbled on the line “I‘m a little bit older now,“ and found it stuck in his head for days.

“I still have the voice memo from that moment and I will go back and listen to it from time to time, I like it a lot and it feels like something special in that moment. I ended up turning it into its own song. I think there’s a few things I would’ve done differently when I was younger, and that’s ultimately what inspired the track in the beginning.”

There was a point when Hudson felt stuck - unsure where to take the track and whether to even record it. “Older Wiser” continued to evolve and, with the help of producer Sam Westhoff, was rearranged until it really felt right.

“We kept a lot of the original moments from the demo, but we also really found something special with the drum groove and the swinging guitars. Songs are a lot like puzzles, and Sam’s perspective was what this one needed. I ended up loving where it ended up.”

A stunning introduction to Hudson’s writing and production styles, “Older Wiser” has placed the artist firmly on my ones-to-watch list. Luckily, Hudson says there’s more to come soon, including a sophomore single and a debut EP early this summer.

“As a new artist, I am just excited when people offer their time of listening to my music. It really means a lot.”
