The debut EP you need to hear from emerging British-Mexican alt-pop artist Moy Cohen.
About The EP:
British-Mexican artist and self-taught musician Moy Cohen has just released his debut EP Overgrown - a collection of deeply personal songs that illustrate the emotional distress he experienced growing up in a broken home.
While largely acoustic-driven, Overgrown unfolds beautifully with cinematic feels and noticeable hints of influence from artists like Coldplay and James Blake. “Pick Up The Pieces” includes some funky keyboard sounds, giving the track a moody feel, while “Hello Home” is more laid back, centring on the melancholic lyricism of returning to a home where everything feels different.
Not only does the EP detail Moy feeling emotionally ‘overgrown’ as someone who experienced turmoil such as his parent’s divorce early in his life, but many of the songs were written to deal with emotions and then stashed away, becoming “potbound” until now. These eight songs are finally free to grow out in the world.

Favourite Lyric:
"There’s a wave and it’s not far away
but it’s crashing, yeah it’s crashing on me
and I’m praying for ways of delaying the pain.
There’s a storm and although I’ve been
warned that it’s coming, I’m still struggling
to see a way of relating instead of just hating my fate."
