Sweet Spotlights: Rooue's 'Juxtaposition'

Jonnica Hill
Irish electronic alt-pop duo Rooue reflect on life as twins on their moody debut EP

About The EP:

London- and Dublin-based identical twins Róisin and Lulu, known collectively as Rooue,

recently released their debut EP Juxtaposition. Much of the 7-track project explores the sisters’ twin bond, with the title reflecting how the pair are both different and the same.

Opening with “bible,” a powerful and haunting introduction to the duo’s dark, electronic alt-pop sound, the entire EP is full of ultra-catchy, relatable and introspective lyrics. The combination of danceable beats and brooding storylines make Juxtaposition the perfect soundtrack for a moody girl summer.

Closing out the EP is the ever-so-thoughtful outro “slán” which bids listeners goodbye with a series of personal voicemail clips. If you’re a fan of gritty yet dreamy alt-pop, I expect you’ll love the debut EP from Rooue!
