Saint Misty's "Lover Girl" combines alt-pop perfection with LGBTQIA+ advocacy

California artist Saint Misty is carving her own lane of pop music, infused with fun, games and empowerment.

If you love artists like Chappell Roan, Zella Day or Melanie Martinez, you are going to love

Saint Misty’s latest single, “Lover Girl.” The California-born alt-pop artist is here to dispel the stigma around the word “lesbian,” celebrate her identity and inspire others to embrace their true selves.

“I get it, we’ve been conditioned to believe that this word is inherently sexual - but it’s not. It’s not icky, it’s not an insult, it’s beautiful to me. If it’s not the label for you then it’s not the label for you! But I’m proud to call myself a lesbian!”

“Lover Girl” is here just in time for summer, with its dark, quirky, fun carnival energy that brings lighthearted humour to an important and empowering message. The clever callback to Mean Girls is just the icing on the cake for this alt-pop earworm!

For Saint Misty, the process behind “Lover Girl” was one of the quickest writing experiences she’s ever been a part of - she simply wrote exactly what she was thinking.

“Some songs I have to struggle a lot with; rearranging or rewriting, but not this one. It was also the first project that I exclusively worked with other women - from the sound engineer to stylist to photographer - it was so cool.”

With a unique sound and fearless storytelling, Saint Misty shares stories from her own journey to self-acceptance and confidence while inspiring others. Her playful style, haunting vocals and vibrant musical landscapes only complement her natural artistry. Saint Misty’s talents as a singer, songwriter and advocate are on full display with the summer’s newest gay pop anthem!

“I just hope the lesbians like it - that’s really all I care about.”
